குருதேவ் தீப யாத்திரை

ஹரி ஓம்! நம் வாழ்க்கையில் நம் கற்றுக் கொள்ளவேண்டியது நிறைய உள்ளன. அதை உரிய முறையில் கற்றுக்கொள்ள ஒரு குரு அவசியம்.
பிறந்தவுடன் தாய் தந்தை நமக்கு முதல் குரு. பள்ளிப் பருவத்தில் பள்ளி வாத்தியார் நமக்கு இரண்டாம் குரு. அதே போல், முறையாக ஆன்மிகம் பயில நமக்கு ஒரு குரு அவசியம். வசிஷ்டர், சங்கராச்சாரியார், ராமகிருஷ்ண பரமஹம்சர், ராமானுஜர், ராகவேந்திரர், ரமணமஹரிஷி, சின்மயானந்தா என பல குருமார்கள் தோன்றி மறைந்துள்ளனர்.
குரு சின்மயானந்தா சரஸ்வதி, 1916 ஆம் ஆண்டு பிறந்தார். அவர் சன்யாச வாழ்க்கை துவங்குவதற்கு முன், அவர் பெயர் பாலகிருஷ்ண மேனன். அவர் ஆன்மிகம் கற்றுக் கொடுப்பதற்கு துவங்கி வைத்த அமைப்பு சின்மயா மிஷன். இந்த மிஷனில் அவரை குருதேவ் என அன்பாக அழைப்பார்கள். அவர் பிறந்து நூறு ஆண்டுகள் நிறைவு பெறுவதைக் கொண்டாட பல நிகழ்ச்சிகள் நடந்து கொண்டிருக்கின்றன. இந்த நிகழ்வுகளைக் குருதேவ் பிறந்த தினமான மே 8 அன்று, இந்தியப் பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி துவங்கி வைத்தார். குருதேவ் நம்மிடம் உடலுடன் இல்லை எனினும், அவரது ஆத்மாவை தீப வடிவத்தில் உலகம் முழுதும் யாத்திரை கொண்டுச்சென்று வழிப்படுகிறார்கள். இந்தியாவில் மட்டும் 140 நகரங்களில் இந்த தீபம் எடுத்துச் செல்லப்படுகிறது. அமெரிக்க, ஐரோப்பா என பல இடத்துக்கு இந்த தீப யாத்திரை எடுத்துச் செல்லப்படவுள்ளது.
அதன் ஒரு பகுதியாக மினசோட்டவில் உள்ள சின்மயா கணபதி மிஷனுக்கு குருதேவின் தீபத்தை யாத்திரையாக எடுத்து வந்தனர். சிகாகோவில் உள்ள மிஷனில் இருந்து பஸ் மூலமாக கொண்டுவரப்பட்டது. குழந்தைகள் வெவ்வேறு வண்ண ஆடைகள் அணிந்து குளிரையும் பொருட்படுத்தாமல் கூதூகலத்துடன் வரவேற்றனர். ஆட்ட மும் பாட்டமும் பார்க்க குருதேவ் கண்டிப்பாக மகிழ்ந்திருப்பார். அமெரிக்க தேசிய கீதமும், இந்திய தேசிய கீதமும் பாடி, இரண்டு நாட்டு வர்ணக் கொடியையும் ஏற்றி வைத்தனர். பல தெய்வப் பாடல்கள், குருதேவின் பாடல்கள் என கொண்டாட்டம் கூட,
தீபத்தை வலம் கொண்டுச் சென்றனர். சங்கின் முழக்கத்துடன் சுவாமிஜி ஷரனானந்தாவின் ஆசியுடன் மந்திர ஒலியுடன் மிஷனில்அழைத்து வரப்பட்டது. பெற்றோர்கள், சிகாகோவில் இருந்து வந்திருந்த பெரியோர்கள், மினசோட்டவில் வாழும் பெரியோர்கள், சிறுவர்கள் எல்லோரும் ஒன்றுகூடி குருதேவ் நாமாவளி பிரார்த்தனையும், குருதேவ் பாதப் பூஜையும் செய்தனர். அங்கு வந்திருந்த ஹிந்து மந்திர் தலைமையாளர், S. Ve. கோவில் தலைமையாளர், குஜராத் சங்க நிர்வாகி, மராட்டி சங்க நிர்வாகி எல்லோரும் கவுரவிக்கப் பட்டனர்.
தீப யாத்திரை
நவம்பர் மாதம் முழுவதும் இந்த ஜோதி வெவ்வேறு வீடுகளில் வைத்து பூஜிக்கப்படும் அது மட்டுமின்றி, குருதேவின் தீபத்தைப் பூரணக் கும்ப மரியாதையுடன் ஹிந்து மந்திருக்கு அழைத்துச் சென்றனர். இந்த நூற்றாண்டு விழாவில் நாமும் பங்கேற்றோம் என நினைக்கும் பொழுது பெருமையாக உள்ளது. இந்தத் தீபத்தைப் பிறகு சிகாகோவிற்குத் திரும்பி எடுத்து செல்லவுள்ளனர்.

Gurudev Deepa Yatra!

We have so much to learn in our life. For that, the most important thing is to choose the right Guru.
When we are born, our parents become our first Guru. In our school days, our school teacher becomes our Guru. In the same way, we need a Guru
for spiritual education. There were many Gurus like Vashishtar, Shankaracharya, Ramakrishna Paramahamsar, Ramanujar, Ragavendrar,
Ramanamaharishi, and Chinmayananda.
Guru Chinmaynanda Saraswathi was born in 1916. Before he took sanyasa, his name was Balakrishna Menon. He began the Chinmaya Mission as a venue to
teach spirituality. In our mission, we call him Gurudev with affection. To celebrate his centenary year celebration, many events have been planned. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off these events on Gurudev’s bithday on May 8th. Even though Gurudev is not with us physically, he is being worshipped in the form of a deepam (oil lamp). In India alone, it has been taken to more than 140 cities. On top of that, the deepam has also been taken to America and Europe.
The deepam was brought to Minnesota Chimaya Ganapathi Mission from Chicago on a bus. Children in beautifully colored dresses gave a warm welcome despite the cold weather. Gurudev would have been happy to see all the singing and dancing. The Indian and American national anthems were sung and flags were hoisted. Many devotional songs were sung as part of the celebration.
Deepam was taken around the mission with shanku sounding. With the blessing of Swami Shradananda, the deepam was invited into the mission. Members and families from Chicago were also invited to the mission. All of them sang Gurudev Namavalli and did gurudev padha pooja. Chinmaya Ganapathi Mission also paid thanks to Twin Cities leaders like the Hindu Mandir president, S.V. Temple president, Gujarat Sang leader, and Marathi sangh leader.
The Deepam was taken to various local houses during the month of November, and a pooja was done in each house. The deepam was also taken to the Hindu Mandir and was greeted with poorana kumbam. We were very proud to be part of this centennial celebration, and at the end of November, the deepam was taken back to Chicago.
